People basically use this service to “show off” to their friends and family by playing a nice song to them whenever they call. The beauty of this service is that you can actually select whatever song to be played for your callers – and you really don’t have to do anything by hand unlike the traditional ringtones where you usually would have to edit the song yourself to get to the exact second that you want your tone to start playing at. For instance, if it’s a 5 minute song, you’d have to actually cut it to about 30 seconds, in order to make it play at the instance you want.
However, this isn’t the case with Ringback Tones. The cellphone service providers provide you with more than once version of the same song so you can choose where you want it to start from. Or you can do it the old-fashioned way and cut your own music by hand then upload it to your carrier’s page. Doing so could take you some time, and it is somewhat hard for beginners but once you get used to the process it won’t really take you more than a few minutes to get the job done.
The subscription isn’t always free of charge, you pay anywhere between $5 to $10 a month, depending on your network. If you have a prepaid line, or a postpaid line, it won’t really matter. As a resolution to security though, you’ll have to confirm that you have actually subscribed to the service by texting a blank – or at times a letter or a number – to the confirmation text that you automatically receive.
Once you have done that, the service will start working automatically. And that’s when you can start customizing it by using the Jukebox service or any other service your phone carrier is providing. It is really easy and a nice service that a lot of people are going crazy for.
